    • The client wanted to understand the patients’ pathway and perspective driving them towards entering the diagnosis and treatment pathway for the sleep apnea.
    • They were keen on understanding the complete patient journey and the specific influencers/barriers towards treatment (CPAP/APAP) adoption in the SEC A/B group for Metros and Tier I cities in India

    Our Approach

    • Telephonic survey with an extensive universe of general population to evaluate the high-risk disease prevalence through a standard screening questionnaire
    • Qualitative research : In depth interviews with high-risk undiagnosed population and Focus group discussions with diagnosed untreated and treated patients to understand the drivers/barriers for entering or not entering the treatment pathway
    • Quantitative research : Validation of qualitative outputs through extensive online surveys

    • To map the patient journey and to identify the key influencers that determines the patient behaviour by determining:
    • Prevalence and distribution of potential sufferers of the disease
    • To identify the awareness and drivers of potential patient to seek for solutions
    • To identify the drivers in treatment behaviours of diagnosed patients
    Project Outcomes

    Solution/Outcome

    • A meticulous assessment strategy was implemented to map the patient pathway.
    • The potential patient pool was established fundamentally by determining the disease prevalence. Further to this, a diagnosis/treatment funnel was created to understand the diagnostic rate for sleep apnea followed by the actual treatment rate.
    • Accentuating this further, the drivers/barriers to treatment were enumerated which would help client understand the key influencers that could facilitate better patient footfall for diagnosis and treatment adoption.
    • Additionally, an exhaustive mapping of the entire market was created encompassing the sales channel, CPAP price and satisfaction with brands etc. which could help the client enhance their brand reputation as well as improve their brands’ reach and accessibility for the consumers
